Moodini the Bull Meets His Romantic Plot Twist

Authorities brought in a cow to tempt an escaped young bull out of the woods, formally moving the search operation from animal control into romantic comedy.

The fugitive, a young bull nicknamed “Moodini”, had fled a farm and managed to remain hidden among the trees. His name was an obvious tribute to his disappearing act: part moo, part Houdini, and entirely unwilling to return for the final curtain.

Despite efforts to locate him, Moodini stayed concealed in the woods. A bull can be a sizeable presence when he wishes, but apparently also a surprisingly discreet one when the alternative is being escorted back to the farm.

With the young escape artist refusing to reveal himself, authorities changed tactics. Rather than relying solely on people looking for a bull who had already proved rather good at not being found, they brought in a cow to lure him into the open.

It was a straightforward appeal to Moodini’s interests. The hope was that the prospect of bovine company might succeed where the search had not, persuading him to abandon the woodland life and make an appearance. After escaping, hiding and acquiring a stage name, he had now been given a love interest.

The plan also placed a good deal of responsibility on the cow, who had been drafted into public service without any indication that she had asked to join a woodland retrieval operation. Her role was simple in theory: be sufficiently appealing that Moodini would decide freedom was all very well, but perhaps not everything.

At the latest account, the bull remained hidden, so the success of the romantic lure was not yet known. There was no reported grand reunion, capture or return to the farm, only an escaped young bull in the woods and a cow brought in to encourage him out.

What happens next therefore depends on whether Moodini can resist the new arrival. Authorities will be hoping their leading lady can coax the elusive bull into view and bring the episode to a safe conclusion. Until then, the young runaway remains at large, the cow remains the operation’s best chance of a plot twist, and Moodini continues to live up to a name that was clearly not chosen because he was easy to keep track of.
