Michael Myers Finds a Disturbing New Tow Hitch

A man dressed as horror villain Michael Myers pulled a car using the tip of his penis. Even by Halloween standards, roadside assistance has taken a dark turn.

Wearing a Michael Myers costume and with his penis wrapped in a silk scarf and tea towels, John Stephenson pulled a Renault Laguna Coupe for 15 metres at a driving centre near York. Halloween roadside assistance has rarely looked less reassuring.

Stephenson, 50, from Spalding in Lincolnshire, believes he is the first person in the world to pull a car using the tip of his penis. The dad-of-three attached himself to the vehicle with a rope and hauled it 49ft this week, having first conducted a couple of test runs at home.

“With the help of my girlfriend I wrapped it in a silk scarf and tea towels because I obviously didn't want my willy to be on display,” he said. “And then it was just a case of attaching the rope to myself and the car.”

Stephenson has previously pulled a car while on fire and pulled a vehicle with his testicles. He has also done a car pull using his penis before, but said this was the first attempt involving only the tip. Unsurprisingly, this refinement did not make the experience more comfortable.

“I'm not going to lie, this one did hurt quite a bit,” he said. “This was probably the most painful stunt I've ever done. I'm always looking to gain a couple of more inches but I don't think I'll be doing this again in a hurry.”

He said he simply had to “crack on with these things and push through the pain barrier”. Fortunately, there was no lasting damage, although he advised others not to try it. “People might think I'm crazy but I like to push myself to the limit,” he added.

Stephenson, a martial arts hall-of-famer and former bare-knuckle fighter, performed the stunt to raise awareness of Mankind, a charity supporting male victims of domestic abuse. He said the Michael Myers outfit represented men feeling forced to wear a mask and pretend everything was fine.

“Domestic abuse against men isn't talked about enough,” he said. “It's a horror story that happens behind closed doors.” He added that the ordeal was intended to show male victims “that they are not invisible, they are not alone and they don't have to stay silent”.

“If people are reading about the stunt, then they're also reading about the cause. That's the important thing for me.”

His other records include throwing 300 punches in 30 seconds while holding a 1kg dumbbell in each hand. Through Official Record Breakers, he has also completed six martial arts kicking techniques in less than five-and-a-half seconds.

This, however, is likely to be his final dangerous stunt. Stephenson turns 51 in January, and said his children have been urging him to stop taking such risks. His family supports the causes he highlights but wants him to cut back on the extreme methods.

Next, he plans to scroll through Guinness World Records and pick random, less dangerous records to challenge. “Everything I do is about getting a message across, raising awareness or supporting a cause,” he said. “But the more extreme the stunt, the more attention it seems to attract.”
