Halloween Party Goes the Full Mo Farah

Maya Jama celebrated Halloween by putting on a bald cap, fake eyebrows and a beard, then sprinting past Buckingham Palace dressed as Sir Mo Farah. In a crowded costume field, the host had plainly decided to go the extra mile.

The Love Island presenter transformed herself into the Olympic champion for her annual Halloween party in London on October 31. Wearing a Team GB running kit, she recreated some of Farah’s most recognisable moments, including crossing an imaginary finishing line, waving a Union Jack and striking his famous Mobot pose.

Sharing photographs of the transformation on Instagram, Maya explained: “This year I wanted to pay homage to @sirmofarah our Olympic champ and all round legend (and I think we look alike lowkey).” The resemblance may have required a little assistance from the facial hair department, but the commitment was certainly podium-worthy.

The party was held at 83 Rivington Street and staged in partnership with BACARDÍ and Five Guys UK. Its theme was “Hell’s Waiting Room”, although guests did at least have unlimited burgers, fries and shakes while awaiting their fate, which is considerably better catering than most visions of eternal damnation.

Five Guys installed a bespoke shop and an on-site shake machine to keep partygoers fuelled through the night. Brown takeaway bags carried the slogan “Hell of a Burger”, while cups were printed with “Hell of a Shake”, giving the restaurant offering a suitably spooky makeover.

Among the famous arrivals was Maya’s Celebrity Traitors co-star King Kenny, who turned up in a bright orange prison-style jumpsuit while talking on the phone. His appearance came days after he was seen leaving Maya’s £1.5million London flat, reportedly having stayed there for two nights.

The pair became close while appearing on Celebrity Traitors, prompting fans to speculate about their friendship. However, a source close to Maya has insisted they are simply friends and that romance is not on the cards. Kenny’s prison outfit, then, was not evidence that anyone had finally been convicted of flirting.

Other Celebrity Traitors contestants at the bash included Bash Croft and Hannah Fry. Comedian Katherine Ryan and influencer Maddie Grace Jepson also joined the celebrations, while Love Island alum Samie Elishi and her partner Tyrique Hyde arrived as Bonnie and Clyde.

Maya’s annual party has become an opportunity to gather friends and familiar faces for elaborate costumes and Halloween fun. This year, though, her Mo Farah tribute set a formidable pace. With the Mobot deployed, the flag flying and the burgers flowing, everyone else was left competing for second place.
