A weather presenter attempting to describe conditions around Maine suddenly began squeaking in a voice likened to Mickey Mouse, before laughing so hard that she begged for the live broadcast to be stopped.

The unnamed US presenter had been trying to deliver an ordinary weather report when a bout of laughter took over. What began as an interruption rapidly became the main event, leaving the forecast to carry on in the background with considerably greater dignity than the person presenting it.

She tried to fight through the attack and return to the conditions around Maine, but every attempt to regain control only produced more laughter. Her voice climbed higher as the giggles intensified, giving the report its unexpected cartoon quality.

It is a familiar and particularly unforgiving kind of laughter: the sort made worse by the knowledge that one absolutely must not be laughing.
